The opposition prepares to hold its traditional „Charnobylski Shliah“ march in Minsk, as a commemoration of the Chernobyl catastrophe . These stickers, calling to come to Yakub Kolas square at 6 p.m. on April, 26, have already appeared in the Minsk streets.

NearBY plans to cover the events of April, 26 in English – LIVE!

The Minsk authorities have allowed to organize the march, under the condition that it follows the approved route, with Yakub Kolas square as a starting point, a stop near the Academy of Sciences for a rally, and Bangalore square as the end point. NearBY has already explained, why Bangalore is so loathed by many opposition activists.

Aliaksandr Milinkevich, leader of the Belarusian opposition, sticks to his promise never to go to Bangalore again. He will walk from Yakub Kolas square to the Academy of Sciences, but not to the notorious dead-end park.

The majority of commentators, including those, who replied to the information about the march on the Nasha Niva website, approve Milinkevich’s decision.

Milinkevich is also making a strong move in the wake of the opposition rally – he is going on a tour through the Belarusian South, polluted by radiation. He will visit a whole number of afflicted regions from 21 till 25 April.
